Bernd Stiegler (born 1964) is a literary scholar. He studied literary studies and philosophy in Tübingen, Munich, Paris, Berlin, Freiburg, and Mannheim. From 1999 to 2007, he worked as the science and academic publishing director at Suhrkamp Verlag; in 2007, he was appointed professor of modern German literature, with a focus on twentieth-century literature in its media context, at the University of Konstanz. His scholarly work has addressed the theory and history of photography, media, and German and French literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. His books include Reisender Stillstand (2010) and Belichtete Augen (2012).
