Paul Gurk (1880 in Frankfurt an der Oder – 1953 in Berlin) was a German writer, painter, and composer. He received the Kleist Prize in 1921 and the Roman Prize of the Kölnische Zeitung in 1924. His novels include “Die Wege des teelschen Hans” (1922), “Meister Eckehart” (1925), “Palang” (1930), and “Judas” (1931). In 1942 he wrote the novel “Goya,” which addresses the horrors of war and the struggle for artistic freedom.
