Nora Bierich

Nora Bierich (born 1958) studied philosophy and Japanese studies in Berlin and Tokyo. She has translated works from Japanese by Haruki Murakami, Kenzaburō Ōe, and Yukio Mishima, as well as graphic novels. In 2019, she received Japan’s Noma Award for the Translation of Japanese Literature.
