Nivedita Prasad

Nivedita Prasad (Dr. phil.) is a social scientist and professor. Her professional positions include a professorship in methods and gender-related approaches in social work at Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin, where she also headed the degree program “Social Work as a Human Rights Profession.” Before that, she worked for 15 years at a nongovernmental organization focusing on violence against migrant women. Prasad helped organize and document the first two nationwide congresses for Black women, migrant women, women living in exile, and Jewish women, including in collaboration with May Ayim. In 2012, she received the Anne Klein Women’s Award from the Heinrich Böll Foundation. Her publications include “Recht vor Gnade” (2020) and “Rassismus in Deutschland – kein Thema bei der UN?” (2019).
