Nicolaus Bornhorn

Nicolaus Bornhorn (born 1950 in Dinklage, Lower Saxony) worked as an independent artist, author, translator, and photographer. From 1991 to 1994, he lived and worked in Marseille, where he produced photographs, frottages, plaster casts, and texts about the city’s harbor. In 1992, he toured Germany with his book Eine Liebe zu Frankreich. Bornhorn translated works by, among others, Adrienne Monnier, Lawrence Durrell, Etel Adnan, and George Steiner from English and French into German. His photography was exhibited in Marseille and several German cities.
