Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner

Nicolai von Schweder-Schreiner, born in Lisbon in 1967, translated works from Portuguese and English into German from 1997 onward. His translations include books by José Saramago, Jennifer Clement, Chigozie Obioma, Daniel Galera, João Ubaldo Ribeiro and Leonard Cohen. In 2020, he received the International Literature Prize of the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. He also worked as a musician and composer, including with the group Veranda Music.
