Morton Rhue is the pen name of the American writer Todd Strasser, who was born in New York in 1950. Before becoming an author, he worked as a newspaper reporter and advertising copywriter; earlier, he also supported himself as a street musician and ship steward. Rhue published numerous novels and short stories, particularly for children and young adults. He became best known in the German-speaking world for The Wave, which received several awards, was adapted for film, and became a widely taught school text. His other notable works include Give a Boy a Gun.
