moki

Moki was born in Brilon in 1982 and studied fine art at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg. Her artistic work combines painting and graphic storytelling. She has published art books and comics, including contributions to the anthology “Spring”. Her comics, often set in fantastical and surreal landscapes, use unconventional narrative devices and sometimes break with traditional panel and page formats. In 2006, she received the Sondermann Award for Best Newcomer of the Year at the Frankfurt Book Fair for “Asleep in a foreign place” (Kiki Post). Her works also include the graphic novel “Sumpfland” (Reprodukt). Her paintings and multimedia works have been exhibited internationally.
