Michael Meyen

Michael Meyen (born 1967) studied journalism in Leipzig, where he completed a diploma in 1992, a doctorate in 1995 and a habilitation in 2001. From 1991 to 1997, he worked as a journalist, including for the Leipziger Volkszeitung and MDR info radio. In 2002, he took up a professorship in general and systematic communication studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His academic work focused on media realities, the history of communication and academic disciplines, and journalism. His books include “Breaking News: Die Welt im Ausnahmezustand,” “Das Erbe sind wir,” “Das Elend der Medien,” “Die Propaganda-Matrix” and “Wie ich meine Uni verlor”.
