Maryam Aras

Maryam Aras was born in Cologne in 1982, where she studied Islamic Studies, English Studies and Political Science. She works as a literary critic, essayist and scholar. Her work examines patterns of reception in the German-language feuilleton from a critical perspective on power. In 2022, she was appointed to the jury for the Leipzig Book Fair Prize. She received a work scholarship from the Kunststiftung NRW for “Dinosaurierkind”.
