Dr. Markus Weber was born in Rheinhausen in the Lower Rhine region and grew up in Moers-Kapellen. He studied German philology, Romance philology and philosophy at the University of Cologne, earning a Magister Artium in 1992. He subsequently trained as a journalist and worked as an editor, including for the Lübbe publishing group and Axel Springer Verlag. From 2001, he ran an editorial office specializing in medical topics. Markus Weber died in 2019.
