Maike Albath (born 1966 in Braunschweig, Germany) worked as an author, presenter and literary critic for Deutschlandfunk, Deutschlandfunk Kultur and other media, including Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit. She spent several years in Italy and focused extensively on contemporary Italian culture. Her awards include the Alfred Kerr Prize for Literary Criticism and the Übersetzerbarke in 2006. Her books include Der Geist von Turin (2010) and Rom, Träume (2013).
