Lynda Barry

Lynda Barry (born 1956 in London) is an American cartoonist and author. She is best known for her underground comic series “Ernie Pook’s Comeek.” Her first novel, “The Good Times Are Killing Me,” was published in 1988 and tells of the friendship between two girls of different racial backgrounds; it was successfully adapted for the stage. Her second novel, “Cruddy,” appeared in 1999. Barry’s work has received numerous awards.
