John Ajvide Lindqvist

John Ajvide Lindqvist, born in Stockholm in 1968, is a Swedish writer. He grew up in Blackeberg, a suburb of Stockholm, and began his career as a television stand-up comedian before turning to writing. He became known internationally for his debut novel, *Let the Right One In*, which has been adapted for film more than once. His novels and short stories combine thriller and horror elements with fantasy. In 2008, he received Sweden’s Selma Lagerlöf Prize.
