Klaus Wiegandt

Klaus Wiegandt founded the »Forum für Verantwortung« foundation, which promotes education, science, and research in the field of sustainable development, and served as its executive board member. He previously served as chairman and spokesperson of the executive board of METRO AG. As part of the educational initiative »Mut zur Nachhaltigkeit«, which he launched in 2006, the twelve-volume series »Zur Zukunft der Erde« was published. Wiegandt was also a co-initiator of the »ZEIT WISSEN Prize for Sustainability«, established in 2013. He received the Federal Cross of Merit for his philanthropic work.
