Friedrich Schmidt-Bleek

Friedrich Schmidt-Bleek was a professor of chemistry and a proponent of the resource transition concept. He was a founding vice president of the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy and previously worked as a department head at the OECD and IIASA. He helped initiate the World Resources Forum Davos and the Factor 10 Institute, of which he served as president. In 2001, he received the Takeda World Environment Award. Schmidt-Bleek published numerous books and specialist articles.
