Katja Spitzer

Katja Spitzer (born 1979) is an illustrator and author. She studied art history and history in Halle, followed by illustration at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and the Lucerne University of the Arts. Since 2009, she has worked as a freelance illustrator for children and adults, creating picture books, book covers, magazine illustrations and books of her own. Her publications include “Leon zeigt Zähne,” “Hey, hey, hey, Taxi!” (with Saša Stanišić), “Haare – Geschichten über Frisuren” and “Das Beste von Allem” (edited with Jutta Bauer). Her work has been exhibited internationally and has received several awards.
