Katharina Ceming (born 1970) studied Catholic theology and German studies. She received a doctorate in philosophy in 1999 and habilitated in fundamental theology in 2002 with a study of mystical theology in Christianity, Hinduism, and Buddhism; she earned a further doctorate in theology in 2009. She taught and conducted research at the universities of Paderborn and Augsburg and became an adjunct professor at the University of Augsburg in 2011. Alongside her academic work, she worked as an author, writer, and seminar leader. Her publications and lectures focused particularly on mysticism, spirituality, and the religious, philosophical, cultural, and social dimensions of the world’s religions. In 2008, she received the Mystikpreis from the Theophrastus Foundation.
