Kai Grehn

Kai Grehn was born in Grevesmühlen in 1969 and grew up in East Berlin. Before studying theater directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin, he worked as a postal carrier, editorial assistant and assistant director at TanzTheater Skoronel. His work has included theater and radio drama direction, prose writing and translation from English. His notable works include radio adaptations of Herta Müller’s The Hunger Angel, Charles Baudelaire’s Artificial Paradises and Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights. He received the German Audiobook Award in 2012 for Artificial Paradises and was nominated for the award in 2011 for The Hunger Angel. He also received the Berlin Writers’ Working Grant and the Prix Marulić Special Prize.
