Joanna Russ

Joanna Russ (1937–2011) was a feminist science fiction author. She was best known for her avant-garde novel *The Female Man*, which achieved international success. Her short stories received numerous awards. She also wrote book reviews and essays. In *How to Suppress Women’s Writing*, she examined the suppression and erasure of women’s writing.
