Jeph Loeb (born 1958) is an American screenwriter, television producer, and comic-book writer. In the mid-1980s, he was involved in the films “Teen Wolf” and “Commando.” He later worked on television series including “Lost,” “Heroes,” and “Smallville.” From 2010 onward, he served for an extended period as a creative executive overseeing Marvel’s television series. His comics include “Batman: The Long Halloween,” “Batman: Dark Victory,” “Superman for All Seasons,” “Spider-Man: Blue,” “Daredevil: Yellow,” “Hulk: Gray,” “Captain America: White,” and “Batman: Hush.” He created several works with artist Tim Sale and “Batman: Hush” with Jim Lee. Loeb received multiple Eisner Awards and Wizard Fan Awards and was nominated for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. The story “Sam” was created as a tribute to his son, who died of cancer in 2005 at the age of 17.
