Jana Hensel

Jana Hensel, born in Leipzig in 1976, is a journalist and author. She became known in 2002 with her book »Zonenkinder«, about the experiences of a young East German generation. Early in her career, she edited the Leipzig literary magazine »Edit« and published the online anthology »Null« with Thomas Hettche. Her later books include the novel »Keinland« (2017), »Wer wir sind. Die Erfahrung, ostdeutsch zu sein« (2018, with Wolfgang Engler), and »Wie alles anders bleibt. Geschichten aus Ostdeutschland« (2019). She received the Theodor Wolff Prize in 2010 and was named »Cultural Journalist of the Year« in 2019.
