Wolfgang Engler

Wolfgang Engler, born in Dresden in 1952, is a sociologist and author. He studied philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin and taught cultural sociology and aesthetics at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin from 1992 to 2005. He served as the academy’s rector from 2005 to 2017. His best-known books include *Die Ostdeutschen. Kunde von einem verlorenen Land*, *Bürger, ohne Arbeit.
