Jan Urbich (born 1978) studied literary studies, philosophy, English literary studies and history. He received his doctorate in 2010 with a dissertation on Walter Benjamin’s theory of literature and knowledge. He worked as a research associate at Friedrich Schiller University Jena and at the Institute of German Studies at Leipzig University. In 2016/2017 and 2018/2019, he held a Feodor Lynen Fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. His publications include “Darstellung bei Walter Benjamin” (2010), “Literarische Ästhetik” (2011), “Benjamin and Hegel. A Constellation in Metaphysics” (2015) and “Handbuch Ontologie” (2019, co-edited).
