Dagmar Lorenz (born 1957) studied Sinology, East Asian cultural history and German studies in Frankfurt am Main. She earned a master’s degree in Sinology and received her doctorate in modern German literary studies in 1989 with a thesis on Jean Améry. As an author and editor, she worked for print and online media, newspapers and specialist journals, and as a radio writer for public broadcasters. She also taught for periods at the University of Giessen and at a college in Shanghai. Her publications include “Wiener Moderne um 1900” and “Journalismus,” both of which appeared in second editions.
