Holm Tetens

Holm Tetens (born 1948) is a German philosopher. He studied philosophy, mathematics and sociology in Bochum and Erlangen and received his doctorate in 1977 from Paul Lorenzen with a philosophy-of-science dissertation on the foundations of physics. After teaching at the University of Brasília and serving as an assistant at Philipps-Universität Marburg, he completed his habilitation in philosophy under Peter Janich in 1986. He subsequently taught at the universities of Göttingen and Paderborn. From 1994 to 2015, Tetens was Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin, specializing in logic and philosophy of science.
