Henriette Beese

Henriette Beese (1944–1998) was a German scholar of literature, translator, editor, and dramaturge. She studied, among others, under Peter Szondi at the Free University of Berlin. After Szondi’s death, she edited his papers together with Jean Bollack. Beese also co-edited the works of Carl Einstein and Norbert Elias. Her translations included works by Gaston Bachelard, Jacques Derrida, Jean Starobinski, Gilles Deleuze, Djuna Barnes, Seamus Heaney, Edmond Jabès, David Rokeah, and Marcel Proust.
