Helmut Gotschy

Helmut Gotschy was born in Neu-Ulm in 1953. After more than three decades as a musical-instrument maker, he turned to writing in 2007 and studied creative writing. In addition to guitars and other plucked instruments, he mainly built hurdy-gurdies, which are played around the world. He published two autobiographical novels, a collection of short stories, a nonfiction book on instrument making, and crime novels. Three books featuring Ulm detective Konrad Bitterle were published by emons.
