Gerd Haverling

Gerd Haverling studied Latin, English, Greek, Classical Archaeology and History at the University of Gothenburg. She received her doctorate in Latin there in 1988 with a dissertation on the language and style of the late Roman senator Symmachus. After holding several fellowships and postdoctoral positions in Munich and Gothenburg, she became a university lecturer in Aarhus in 2001. In 2007, she took up the chair of Latin Language and Literature at Uppsala University. Her scholarly work focused particularly on Latin linguistics and Late Latin.
