Eva Mattes

Eva Mattes (born in 1954 in Tegernsee, Germany) is a German actress and audiobook narrator. She began appearing in films and on stage at the age of twelve and became known for her work with directors including Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Peter Zadek, as well as for numerous film, television, and theater roles. From 2001 onward, she played Detective Klara Blum in the television series »Tatort«. As an audiobook narrator, she recorded works by authors including Jane Austen and Elena Ferrante. Her acting earned her several awards, including the German Film Award in 2001. In 2018, she received the German Audiobook Award’s special lifetime achievement prize.
