Karin Krieger

Karin Krieger (born in Berlin in 1958) studied Romance languages and worked as a freelance literary translator from Italian and French. Her translations included works by Elena Ferrante, Claudio Magris, Andrea Camilleri, Margaret Mazzantini, Ugo Riccarelli, Alessandro Baricco and Gianfranco Calligarich. She received multiple scholarships from the German Translators’ Fund and was awarded the Hieronymus Ring in 2011 for outstanding achievements in literary translation. In 2024, she received the German-Italian Translator Award.
