Eduard von Keyserling

Eduard von Keyserling (1855–1918) was a German writer and dramatist from a Baltic aristocratic family. He studied law, philosophy, and art history in Dorpat, but abandoned his studies and for a time managed estates belonging to his family. He began publishing stories and novels in 1882. His best-known works include *Fräulein Rosa Herz*, *Wellen*, *Schwüle Tage*, *Bunte Herzen*, and the drama *Ein Frühlingsopfer*. His later stories, novellas, and novels are generally associated with literary Impressionism. After losing his sight as a result of illness later in life, Keyserling dictated his works to his sisters.
