Gabriele Radecke (born 1967) is a German literary scholar. She studied German literature, politics and law in Mainz from 1989 to 1995 and received her doctorate for a study of Theodor Fontane’s novel “L’Adultera.” Radecke headed the Theodor Fontane Research Center at the University of Göttingen and, from 2010, served as a co-editor and scholarly director of the “Große Brandenburger Fontane-Ausgabe.” She also oversaw the digital edition of Fontane’s notebooks. In 1998, she prepared a new edition of “L’Adultera” for the Fontane edition; in 1999, she published the first edition of August von Goethe’s Italian travel diary, “Auf einer Reise nach Süden.” In 2017, she received the University of Göttingen’s Board of Trustees Prize for promoting dialogue between scholarship and the public.
