David Gutmann

Dr David Gutmann was born in Filderstadt in 1978. He studied public management and worked in various roles at the Archdiocese of Freiburg’s administrative office from 2001 onward. Among other responsibilities, he oversaw the introduction of a new accounting system from 2008 to 2012 and a personnel management system from 2012 to 2016. He received his doctorate in 2020. Together with Fabian Peters, Gutmann authored the Freiburg Study, based on an ecumenical research project at the University of Freiburg. It produced coordinated projections of church membership and church-tax revenue for Germany’s Protestant regional churches and Catholic archdioceses and archdioceses.
