Fabian Payr

Fabian Payr is a guitarist, guitar teacher, and author. He studied German, Romance languages, and theatre, film, and television studies at Goethe University Frankfurt and worked as a journalist. He later studied classical guitar with Olaf van Gonissen at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt, where he completed his artistic maturity examination in 1995. In 1983, he and his guitar duo partner won first prize at the German Phono Academy’s young pop talent festival. Payr published guitar compositions, a folk-picking method, and the guitar technique manual “Fingerfitness für Gitarristen” with Ricordi and Hubertus-Nogatz-Verlag. Together with his wife, he founded the adult-education company Musica Viva Musikferien.
