Brian Moore

Brian Moore (1921–1999) was born in Belfast and emigrated to Canada in 1948. In 1959, he moved to California. In addition to writing novels, he worked as a screenwriter; Alfred Hitchcock commissioned him to write the screenplay for Torn Curtain. Several of Moore’s novels were adapted for film. From 1976 to 1989, he taught at the University of California, Los Angeles.
