Bernard M. Levinson is an American scholar whose academic appointments include professorships in Classical and Near Eastern Studies and Law at the University of Minnesota. He has also held the Berman Family Chair in Jewish Studies and Hebrew Bible. His scholarship addresses biblical and cuneiform law, textual reinterpretation in the Second Temple period, and the relationship between the Bible and Western intellectual history.
