Bastian Berbner

Bastian Berbner is a German journalist and editor at the Hamburg weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT. His work has received, among others, the Axel Springer Award and the German Reporter Award. In 2018, he reached a large audience with his reporting on the project “Deutschland spricht,” which brought together more than 8,000 people from across Germany to talk to one another and overcome prejudice. In 2019, Berbner received the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize for the reportage “180 Grad. Geschichten gegen den Hass” (“180 Degrees: Stories Against Hate”).
