Arthur Leo Zagat was an American lawyer and author of pulp fiction and science fiction. During the last two decades of his life, he wrote numerous short stories, about 500 of which appeared in pulp magazines such as *Thrilling Wonder Stories*, *Argosy*, and *Astounding*. Zagat taught writing at New York University. In 1941, he was elected to the first national executive committee of the Pulp Writers League. During World War II, he held a senior position in the Office of War Information.
