Annemarie van Haeringen (born 1959) is a Dutch children’s book illustrator. She studied art at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and received the Gouden Penseel (Golden Brush), the Netherlands’ major illustration award, three times. She was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize for “Papa, hörst du mich?” by Tamara Bos and for “Coco und das kleine Schwarze.” Her notable picture books include “Ein Garten für den Wal,” based on a text by Toon Tellegen, “Monsieur Matisse und seine fliegende Schere,” “Schneewittchen strickt ein Monster,” and “Ossip und der rote Faden.” Van Haeringen grew up surrounded by numerous animals.
