Philipp Baumgarten

Philipp Baumgarten (born 1985 in Zeitz, Germany) is an artist, editor and cultural manager. He studied media production and art history. Baumgarten co-founded the Kloster Posa cultural and educational center in Zeitz, where he served as artistic director until 2020. His work examined the transformative effects of social change in rural eastern Germany. In 2023, he received the Georg-Christoph-Biller Prize for this work.
