Anna-Nina Kroll (born 1988) studied literary translation in Düsseldorf and Cádiz. She began translating novels, nonfiction and children’s books from English into German in 2012. Authors whose works she has translated include Donal Ryan, Carmen Maria Machado, John Irving and Anna Burns. In 2021, she received the Förderpreis zum Straelener Übersetzerpreis, awarded by the Kunststiftung NRW, for her translation of Anna Burns’s novel Milkman. In 2020, she was Translator in Residence at Trinity College Dublin.
