Anna Basener (*1983) wrote novels, screenplays, plays, and audio dramas. She financed her studies in Hildesheim by writing serialized pulp novels; in this context, the German weekly DIE ZEIT called her the “most successful German writer of pulp romances.” Her literary debut, “Als die Omma den Huren noch Taubensuppe kochte,” received the 2018 Putlitzer Prize for the funniest German-language novel. Her other works include “Schund und Sühne” and the audio drama “Die juten Sitten,” which reached number one on Audible’s bestseller list.
