Rezension von Monique MDefinitely would recommend. I really enjoyed the storyline—it was an easy, fun read with a bit of depth to it. Emily Henry did not disappoint, and Great Big Beautiful Life is certainly up to par with her other novels. I particularly enjoyed reading about Alice’s bubbly and social personality, as I often have the impression that female protagonists are rarely portrayed as genuinely bubbly and outgoing (at least in the novels I have read). Alice and Hayden certainly have chemistry, and I really enjoyed watching their relationship build throughout the story. Although I rated this five stars—and I stand by that rating because I genuinely enjoyed reading it—there were two aspects that reminded me of other romance novels. Hayden’s character, at least to me, very much resembled Ali Hazelwood’s brooding, dark male leads, while the storyline of an old, glamorous Hollywood star telling the story of her life to be turned into a novel immediately reminded me of The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. These may well be coincidences, and since I enjoy both Hazelwood’s and Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novels, neither comparison took away from my enjoyment of Great Big Beautiful Life. Overall, a fun and enjoyable read that I would definitely recommend.
Rezension von Anna FreyMag Emily Henry sehr gern, fand das Buch nur zwischendurch etwas langweilig. Verstehe das Konzept aus dem Wechsel zwischen Margarets Geschichte und Alice und Hayden. Muss aber sagen dass ich den Pace von der Ives Family mehr mochte. Gegen Ende konnte es einiges mit der Auflösung wieder aufholen aber nicht mein Favourite von ihr.
