Winfried Woesler (born 1939 in Breslau) is a German scholar of German literature and editorial studies. He studied Latin, medieval Latin, German studies and biology in Münster, Munich and Tübingen. From 1981 to 2004, he taught German literary studies and editorial studies at the University of Osnabrück, focusing on philological foundations. He published scholarly editions of works by, among others, Seneca, Konrad von Würzburg, Schiller, Heinrich Heine and Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. From 1985 to 2002, Woesler was the first spokesperson of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft für germanistische Edition and founded the journal “editio”.
