William H. Hudson

William Henry Hudson (1841–1922) was a naturalist and ornithologist born in Quilmes, Argentina, to Irish emigrants. He emigrated to Great Britain in 1874 and began writing there. He wrote in English and became known for his ornithological studies and novels, particularly *Green Mansions* (1904). Hudson died in London and is regarded today as an Argentine national poet.
