Will Gmehling

Born in 1957, Will Gmehling worked for many years as a painter of images for adults before he began writing books for children. His first children’s book was published in 1998. He went on to publish numerous picture books and books for children, many of which were translated into several languages. In 2020, his children’s novel “Freibad” received the German Youth Literature Prize.
