Werner Stegmaier

Werner Stegmaier is a German philosopher. He was a professor of philosophy at the University of Greifswald and held the chair of philosophy, with a focus on practical philosophy, until 2011. He was also the founding director of Greifswald’s Institute of Philosophy and a long-standing co-editor of Nietzsche-Studien and the series Monographien und Texte zur Nietzsche-Forschung. His fields of research include practical philosophy and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche. His major publications include Philosophy of Orientation (2008).
