Olaf Breidbach

Olaf Breidbach (1957–2014) studied art, philosophy, biology and paleontology in Bonn. He earned doctorates in philosophy and natural sciences and completed his habilitation in zoology in 1989. In 1995, he became Professor of the History of Science at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. He also served there as director of the Institute for the History of Medicine, Science and Technology, director of the Ernst Haeckel House, and head of the Theoretical Biology section.
