Walter Landin

Walter Landin (born in 1952) worked as a secondary-school teacher and wrote prose, poetry, and texts in the Palatine dialect. He received first prize in the Mannheim short-story competition in 1984 and the Literature Advancement Award of the Palatinate District Association in 1990. His publications include the story collections *Wenn erst Gras wächst*, *Dorfluft*, and *Mord im Quadrat*, the poetry volume *das Gras die Stille der Mohn*, and several crime novels. He is particularly known for the series featuring Inspector Lauer, including *Bluthitze*, *Eiswut*, *Mordsherbst*, and *Gefährlicher Treffpunkt*. Landin belonged to the Association of German Writers, the Syndikat crime-writers association, and the Literary Society of the Palatinate.
